How To Apply Everyday Makeup

makeupbydiana-com_everyday-make-upEven if it is just a simple day, no special occasion coming, there is a type of makeup everyone could use, without being too much. Therefore, this is the makeup for every day, which should look natural, but elegant.

The most important steps for achieving any look is cleansing the skin and applying the proper moisturizer based on your concern. The eye area is the most delicate one, so don’t ignore it and opt for a special moisturizer designed for that.

I usually prefer to apply a primer before the makeup is done, in order to assure a smoother application and better wear of the makeup. Concealer is one of the best friend when coming to cover any imperfections like dark circles under the eyes or age spots. It can also be applied on the upper eye lid, to make this even and serving at the same time as a base for the eye shadow. In this way our eyes look rested and fresh. A sheer foundation is applied all over the face, to even out the color of the skin. It can be applied with a foundation brush, a sponge or with the fingers. But the best of these is using a brush. Think that you are painting and the finish will be seamless. While using a sponge, this will absorb too much product. If more concealer is needed, you can apply it one more time on top of the foundation, just on the areas that still have shadows. I prefer to use an illuminating concealer after the foundation is applied to brighten up the eye area. If used before the foundation, the brightening effect will disappear.

Using a powder to set up your makeup is necessary. I recommend a translucent loose powder, as it is lighter and will create a natural look. It can be also swept over the lids, so the shadow will stay longer without getting into the crease.

When choosing eye shadow colors, the best ones to look natural are the earth tones like brown, gold, orange, beige, olive. The brown looks good with any eye color. There shouldn’t be more than two colors on the eye for a natural makeup. To define the eyes, an eyeliner is applied and smudged with a brush for a soft look.
We should not forget about mascara, in order to achieve thicker and darker lashes. Again, both black or brown works well.

Many women skip making up the brows, which actually give a frame to the eyes and expression to the face. They should be well groomed and brushed in a natural shape. Use an eyebrow pencil or powder to fill in any gaps. Eyebrows should be done only after the foundation and powder is applied, so there will be no remaining of these products on the hairs.
The blush and the lip color should be both in the same color family, both warm or both cool.
