Let’s be honest: you won’t need your entire makeup kit to maintain your look throughout your wedding day. Between greeting guests, sharing special moments with your new husband and hitting the dance floor, you likely won’t have much time for too much touch-ups. And if your makeup is of high quality and applied correctly, you shouldn’t need to redo anything major. However, minor touch-ups are perfectly normal to keep you looking fresh, especially as the day progresses.
After years of working as a makeup artist, I’ve found the best products that work for quick and easy bridal makeup touch-ups. This is my recommended list, so you stay picture-perfect all day long.
1.Lip Color
Even the longest-lasting lip products may lose their perfection. The color might hold up for most of the night, but kissing, eating and drinking (especially with greasy foods) could cause the vibrancy to fade. Have your lip color handy to refresh throughout the day.
2.Blotting Papers
It’s common to get shiny after a few hours, especially under the lights or after dancing. Blotting papers are an excellent solution, as they remove oil without disturbing your makeup.
3.Translucent Powder
To avoid caking on more layers, opt for a translucent powder. It will mattify any shine and keep your makeup looking fresh without adding heavy layers.
4.Powder Puff or Small Brush
To apply your powder evenly, use a small brush or powder puff applicator for precision.
5.Clean Mascara Wand
A secret tool! A clean mascara wand is perfect for gently scratching an itch without smudging makeup, removing tiny stray hairs or wiping away any fallout without disturbing your look.
6.Face Mist
After hours of celebrating, a hydrating face mist can refresh your skin and revive your makeup. It’s especially useful after a long stretch on the dance floor.
7.Eyelash Glue
If you’re wearing false lashes, pack some eyelash glue in case any corners start to lift.
8.Tissues and Q-Tips
Don’t forget to include a few tissues and Q-tips in your bridal kit for quick fixes. Tissues are perfect for blotting any smudges or dabbing away happy tears, while Q-tips can help you make precision corrections (fixing eyeliner smudges, cleaning up lipstick edges).
9.Sample-Size Perfume
Freshen up with a small bottle of your favorite scent. Between hugs and dancing, this will help you continue smelling just as lovely as you look.
Keep these essential products in your bridal kit to be prepared for any minor retouches throughout the day. Store them in a compact toiletries bag and keep them easily accessible. Many brides entrust their kit to their maid of honor or mother for safekeeping, making sure it’s always within reach when needed.
