Today, I want to share a behind-the-scenes look at one of my recent bridal makeup experiences. I first met my bride Tina about a year ago at a wedding open house. After chatting and getting to know each other, she decided to hire Makeup By Diana as her wedding makeup artist. We later met for her bridal trial this summer, where we had a full consultation and settled on a soft look. She didn’t wear much makeup regularly, but she was taking excellent care of her skin. I could tell by how beautifully the makeup applied and how gorgeous her complexion looked. As usual, I documented every product I used so I could recreate the same look on her big day.
Wedding day – it arrived so quickly! I made sure to arrive 30 minutes early to set up and have everything ready for the bride. Many of my brides say that I help them feel relaxed and comfortable, which is so important when choosing your wedding makeup pro.
For her bridal look, I created a soft and natural makeup to enhance her features. I prepped her skin with my favorite products – Sonia Roselli’s Water Elixir and Water Balm – to create the perfect base. I used MAC’s Face and Body Foundation, which provides lightweight coverage and leaves the skin looking smooth and airbrushed. To add warmth and glow, I applied MAC’s mineral blush in Petal Power, a beautiful peachy tone that complemented her complexion so perfect.
For her eyes, we went with some neutral tones to brighten and define without being too bold. I applied a shimmering rose gold eyeshadow from Cinema Secrets across her lids, with a gentle deepening of the crease using matte shades from the Urban Decay palette. To keep things long-lasting and tear-proof, I used Thrive Causemetics’ Liquid Lash Extensions mascara, which is a favorite of mine for wedding days. Ardell #110 lashes were the final touch for a soft look without overwhelming her eyes. Her brows were naturally defined to frame her face without looking harsh.
For the lips, I selected a soft rosy hue that added just the right pop of color, using Maybelline’s lipliner in Almond Rose and a custom blend of two long-wear lip colors in Amazonian and Dreamer.
The wedding started with the vows, before the ceremony. As I witnessed that , there were many tears coming from their eyes. I’m happy to say that this look held up beautifully through those emotional moments.
If you’re searching for a timeless bridal makeup look that enhances your natural beauty without overpowering your features, this soft and natural style might be perfect for you.
